Just in time for the school holidays, the weather gods are finally offering more moderate weather for the next week.
Apart from a few showers, the days through to next weekend should mostly be a welcome relief for a region in recovery mode.
Tawhirimatea, the Māori god of weather, seemed to be frowning late yesterday afternoon, but MetService says fear not — no downpours are foreseen for the near future.
Today offers fine weather with gusty northwesterlies, which should help the ground dry out.
Tomorrow is also fine, but Monday can expect rain for a time in the afternoon and evening, with southwesterlies.
