Fine few days before rain comes Monday: MetService

The latest extended forecasts indicate a wet week ahead, suggesting we make the most of the next few days.

The MetService outlook for the weekend is for fine weather but a change to southeasterly conditions on Monday will bring rain.

At this stage there is “low confidence” that “south to southeast gales could become severe south of a line Taranaki to East Cape”.

The southeasterly flow continues all week, with the rain easing to showers over Thursday and Friday.

After a good run of tar-melting weather, the district’s residents will have noticed the change to cooler temperatures.

The forecasts say it will stay cooler with temperatures in the low to mid-20s all next week.

Meanwhile, tropical low 05U in the Coral Sea has now strengthened to become tropical Cyclone Kirrily.
