The cruise ship season rolled along yesterday with the fifth successful visit, when the boutique cruise ship National Geographic Orion came calling for the third time and docked at Eastland Port.

“The ship was a bit late due to sea conditions, but otherwise the day has gone well,” a ship’s agent spokesman said.

“The 51 passengers on board came ashore to do a winery tour, to visit Eastwoodhill Arboretum and go on a farm tour.”

The Orion sailed again at around 7pm last night for Napier.

The next cruise ship to call will be the Silver Muse, with about 1000 passengers on board, due next Monday.
