Today and tomorrow bring another dose of heavy rain to the Gisborne-East Coast region, along with strong easterly winds.
MetService updated its advisories yesterday to put the district under an Orange Heavy Rain Warning.
The forecast for today and tomorrow says residents can expect 100 to 130 millimetres of rain through to Saturday morning, especially north of Tolaga Bay.
MetService says peak rainfall rates could reach 10 to 20mm an hour.
A low is expected to hook around the East Cape over this period, with associated fronts passing through and easterly gales to northern and central parts of New Zealand.
