THE man seriously injured in the vehicle crash in Lavenham Road on Saturday night remains in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital’s intensive care unit.
The stationwagon the 49-year-old was driving left the road and crashed into a roadside drain at about 5.30pm that night.
He was admitted initially to
ICU at Gisborne Hospital and was then flown to Waikato on Sunday.
“He is in our intensive care unit in critical condition,” a Waikato hospital spokeswoman said.
Firefighters had to remove two doors from the vehicle to get the trapped man out.
