There are 245 active cases of Covid-19 in the district, according to figures released by Health New Zealand-Tairawhiti this morning.
“We've had between 22 and 56 cases per day over the last week and our daily average is up to 36,” said a Health New Zealand spokesman.
“We want youto have a safe summer.”
■ If you feel unwell, take a rapid antigen test (RAT). If you test positive, you will need to self-isolate for seven days. If you need support, call 0800 TAKATU, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm to talk to a local, trained health professional.
■ Make sure you have enough RATs to test your whānau. Go to 295 Palmerston Road or your local healthcare centre or participating pharmacy to pick tests up.

■ Mask up in healthcare services, residential care and some disability settings. It is strongly encouraged you wear a mask when visiting high-risk folk, or in closed, crowded and confined spaces, especially on public transport.
■ Covid spreads more easily indoors. Reduce your risk by spending time outdoors, especially when in groups or when eating.
