There are 71 active cases of Covid-19 in Tairāwhiti, according to Ministry of Health figures up to 1pm on Monday.

There have been 35 deaths in Tairāwhiti and a total of 24,484 cases in all.

The Ministry has reported 3159 deaths across the country in the same period along with 5396 active cases and total cases of 2,425, 237.

Of the 35 deaths, five were from Northland, 11 from Auckland, three from Waikato, four from Bay of Plenty, one from Taranaki, one from MidCentral, two from Wellington, three from Nelson-Marlborough, two from Canterbury,and three were from Southern.

One was aged in their 30s, two were in their 40s, one was in their 50s, five were in their 60s, four were in their 70s, 14 were in their 80s and eight were aged over 90.

Of these people, 18 were women and 17 were men.
