A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

We have been long-term  supporters of The Gisborne Herald, as were our respective parents in their time.

However, we need to write that we totally agree with Mary-Ann de Kort’s opinion expressed in her letter, “Result of a nasty campaign” (Gisborne Herald 25/7/23). In our opinion The Gisborne Herald’s front-page headlines (25/7/23) sadly demonstrate a lack of the impartial and informed analysis that is meant to be a cornerstone of professional journalism. In our opinion, again, it is equally concerning that The Gisborne Herald (our local paper) appears not to acknowledge here the significant commitment to our community that Kiritapu Allan has shown over a number of years.

Thank you Kiritapu.
