Another dose of wet weather and a switch to cooler conditions appears to be on the way for the Gisborne-East Coast region next week.
Weather modelling indicates rain and wind from the north on Monday, sweeping into the wider Bay of Plenty region and East Cape.
A low is expected to be off to the west of New Zealand in the Taranaki bight, generating a strong northerly flow on to the north of the East Coast region.
It is expected the wind will veer to the north-east before changing to a cold southerly on Tuesday.
Rain and southerlies are forecast to remain for next week right through to Sunday.
