Providing your fence/wall is built within your boundary and not over a certain height, and made of environmentally friendly materials that blend in with the environment — in this case, timber or a natural-rock stone wall, ie no concrete exposure to the sea — I assume all would be OK. Not too much different from what residents were trying to do to protect their properties at Wainui Beach a few years back, or NZTA trying to prevent SH35 falling into the sea. As long as there are clear guidelines to follow, less red tape should make developing this district better, not slower with hurdles to navigate.
