Colleen grew up on the East Coast and trained in tourism. She has done various volunteer work including with playcentres, the A&P Association and on a school board of trustees.
She looks forward to learning a lot more about the community and helping the people with the help of the valuable CAB resources.
Jenny moved from Napier to Gisborne 16 months ago to retire.
She has been a regional hockey rep and managed a farm in a small farming community before working in retail.
She understands some people have difficulties understanding and completing forms and wants to help them know what steps to take in resolving their disputes and problems.
Roy has lived in Gisborne for three decades and is a systems analyst and programmer.
He gained a teaching degree as an adult student. He is interested in music and has performed in productions and choirs. He enjoys outdoor activities and has been involved in student exchange programmes.
He has a curious mind and feels that information about social systems and services is essential so communities can be self- supportive and reduce frustration.
Linda Trass has been in Gisborne since getting married in 1972. She was trained as a nurse and worked at Gisborne Hospital and at night in palliative care.
She was a plunket nurse for 25 years and a parent educator in the Plunket Families Centre, which helped young parents in a similar way to CAB.
She volunteers on the steam train and will enjoy putting people in touch with community organisations and sharing helpful information.
People can get help and advice from CAB on various issues, ranging across employment, consumer affairs, health and wellbeing, money and more.
