The Tauawhi Longboard Classic was a great weather day to profile prevention of domestic violence.
Who cares who surfed best to win? The important cause won on the day and many happy faces confirmed that.
I note a suggestion in the paper that a Mr “Moti” may be “almost unbeatable” in the Speedo and bikini event. I am closely related to that personality and he certainly has an “almost unbeatable” ego that the Tauawhi organisation must be praised for tolerating, as they social work him and other characters of his ilk who need help.
Sensible and risk averse people should not be impressed by attention-seeking antics that are not sun smart or safe. The Tauawhi charity has a lot of important work to do in the community, especially helping men be better men.
Thank you Tauawhi team, Benny Hutchings and friends who supported this important issue, beyond the superficial Speedo and bikini thrills. We enjoyed making new friends, loving life and showing care for all others on the Tauawhi journey.
