A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

Tena koutou Tauawhi men’s group and the Crawford whānau.

Congratulations Tauawhi on achieving the long-held dream of having a respite house for men. It has been a long journey and hard work for you all.

How blessed we are, as a region, to have men and women who don’t want to judge but want to help their brothers to live without the anger which decimates whānau and community.

We also have the Crawfords with the hostel for homeless men, making sure that there is a place of warmth and comfort and hearty meals for those who find themselves without shelter.

You are all heroes and warriors in the fight against a world that seems less able to supply warmth and comfort to all in our communities.

Your loving care and dedication is an inspiration to all of us. It shows that dreams can come true if we truly believe.

Thank you and God bless.

Kia kaha, arohanui.
