Firefighters were called to Banks Street in the industrial subdivision yesterday morning in response to a car fire in a wreckers yard.
The call came in at around 9am.
“The fire was started by gas cutting gear which set fire to flammable materials in a wrecked car in the yard,”
a senior firefighter said.
“We used breathing apparatus and a low pressure delivery to put it out, and that was done smartly.”
No one was injured in the incident.
