Eastland Port was chocker yesterday and will be again today with kiwifruit and logs being loaded on Wharf 7 and Wharf 8.
The second kiwifruit consignment of the season to leave Gisborne by sea is being loaded on to the freighter Crown Opal — around 1200 pallets for Europe for
Zespri. She was due to sail at around 8pm tonight to load more cargo in Tauranga.
The logger Deneb Harmony took on 29,000 tonnes for China and left last night at 10pm for Napier. Her place alongside Wharf 8 was taken by another log ship, the Ocean Victoria.

A total of 205,000 tonnes of logs were exported on eight ships over the month and the final three ships of the cruise season anchored in the bay. Ten log ships and five kiwifruit ships were booked for April.
