Ngatapa School’s annual Pet Day went off without a hitch on Wednesday.
School principal Cheryl Johnston said it was a “fantastic day”, made all the better because the event was nearly cancelled with poor weather in the run-up.
“I nearly cancelled it but I’m so glad I held off. The weather was beautiful on the day.”
The event saw 13 pupils and eight pre-school children bring along their pets, a varied collection of dogs, lambs and calves.
Ivy Harper’s pet dog Joey was awarded Champion Pet on the day and Angus Loffler took the award for most ribbons collected in the animal section.
