My son and I thoroughly enjoyed the Friday acrobatics and flying manoeuvres with the crowd of spectators at Waikanae Beach. The display of dried arrangements of logs and debris from a washed up tidal floodline in front of us was instantly forgotten as we focused on the picture-perfect blue sky, clouds and circling falcons swooping around an appreciative audience.
It was better than a concert as it appealed to the wider community, and a front-row seat was not a necessity as it was a 360-degree panoramic view with surround sound.
A repeat performance is welcome for Anzac Day please!
