I attended the performance of Mozart's Requiem by the Gisborne and Hastings Choral Society yesterday afternoon.
Mozart wrote this in 1791 when he was 35 years old and died before he finished it. It was finished by one of his pupils. I wonder if he ever dreamed that it would
be performed 230 years later, not by a church choir but by everyday men and women from all walks of life who just love to sing. It was a truly wonderful and uplifting experience; how I wish I could sing like that.
