The trailing suction hopper dredge Albatros will be visiting Eastland Port later this month.
Due to arrive on August 28 and depart on September 7, the dredge will work to clear the naturally accumulating sediments along the shipping channel, turning basin, wharf 7 and wharf 8.
“This is consented, routine work we do annually to ensure ships can transit and manoeuvre safely,” a port spokesperson said.
“The Albatros also does regular maintenance dredging for ports throughout the country, including Napier, Tauranga, Taranaki, Lyttleton, and Timaru.”
