■ Winnie the Pooh Plus A Midnight’s Dream

Evolution Theatre Rising Stars, 75 Disraeli St, Monday June 26 – Thursday June 29 5.30pm – 7.30pm. Winnie the Pooh (ages 6-12), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (ages 12 - 17). Support the Rising Stars as tamariki join in the adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh. Then follow rangitahi as they venture into Shakespeare. Adults $10, kids (17 and under) $5.

VISUAL ARTS

■ Ataata Exhibition by Heremaia Barlow

Ataata is a reflection on the origins of whakairo. This is Barlow’s first solo exhibition. Tairāwhiti Museum. On display until June 17.

■ The Deal Exhibition

Dave Roil’s dramatic and exclusive haute couture garments, with local photographer Tink Lockett, with 14 fine art images printed on silk. Open until June 18. Using upcycling methodology and sewing only by hand, David Roil established a subculture in 2004 becoming involved with the London Pacific Fashion Week. Over the years his men’s and women’s range have been shown at the Melbourne Fashion Festival in the Melbourne Museum for the Global Indigenous Runway.

■ Colours Deluxe

Celebrating the achievement of Sarah and Edward Featon of Gisborne, who in the 1880s undertook an ambitious project to describe and paint New Zealand’s flowering plants. At Tairāwhiti Museum until June 25.
