The Band School.

The Band School.

The Band School finishes year with concertYou’ve seen them entertaining passers-by in the street during the school holidays and now 80 of Ricky Boyd’s Band School student musicians will play rock, jazz and go nuts in an end of year concert. Be there or be square.

The Band School’s End of Year Concert, War Memorial Theatre, Sunday (2pm-6pm). Tickets at Raglan Roast, $12.

Good cheer with Carols in the VinesThe dulcet, and manly, voices of the Gisborne Choral Society, fuelled by the Gisborne Civic Orchestra, lead the 10th Carols in the Vines next month. The event’s inaugural Best Nativity Scene character competition for the children with prizes sponsored by The Vines will be part of the evening. A parade is also planned to accompany the Nativity carols.

Carols in the Vines, Bushmere Estate, 166 Main Road, Makaraka, December 19. Gates open 5.30, singing from 6.30.
