Melding inspirations of folk, soul, pop and psychedelia with the guitar and spirited storytelling of musician-actor Nikita Tu-Bryant (Avatar 2, Far North); the thick lushness of Moog synth and Fender Rhodes from Ed Zuccollo (Zuke); and the filthy drive and barking drums of Rick Cranson (Little Bushman), KITA have solidified themselves as a must-see live band with a massive sound.

Maiko Lewis-Whaanga’s Breathe Exhibition Opening
The opening of Maiko Lewis-Whaanga’s Breathe exhibition will be held at the Tairāwhiti Museum tomorrow, October 6, at 5.30pm and will engage all the senses. Tasting platters will be created by Maiko’s sister, Satomi and mother, Kuni. Sheryl Edwards will also be exhibiting her exquisite head pieces, and Gana Goldsmith will be performing music she created for the exhibition and a short film she made will be shown. The last few years have been challenging. This has been the catalyst for Maiko to create a space that reconnects herself and the viewer back to a basic, biological function, the breath and its power to ground us and create a sense of calm in a busy and uncertain world. The exhibition will close on Sunday December 3.
