KEY POINTS:
Shares in Auckland International Airport continued their upward climb when the New Zealand sharemarket opened for the week.
They reached a new record of 276 early, up 10c on Friday's close, on volume of 800,000 shares.
That helped the benchmark NZSX-50 index up 3.85 points to 4210.16 by around 10.15am today
The Auckland Airport strength helped balance falls in a range of other shares, including top stock Telecom which dropped 4c early to 484.
Other shares to fall early were Air New Zealand, down 4c to 280, AMP down 5c to 1200, Freightways down 4c to 446, Hallenstein Glasson down 1c to 498, Port of Tauranga down 5c to 640, Pumpkin Patch down 4c to 441, and Sky TV down 2c to 585.
Early risers apart from Auckland Airport included ANZ Banking Group up 10c to 3425, Fisher & Paykel Appliances up 1c to 360, Nuplex up 1c to 742, Ryman Healthcare up 1c to 243, and Tower up 2c to 213.
