The New Zealand sharemarket opened the new week to news that another foreign investor is serious about pursuing a stake in Auckland International Airport.
Auckland Airport shares rose 3c to 306 after CPP Investment Board, which invests funds for Canada Pension Plan, said it intends to submit a proposal to acquire up to 49 per cent of the airport.
That is less than the 51 per cent Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) is seeking and it last week initiated a process to exit its bid for the airport.
Air NZ rose 1c to 207 and airport investor Infratil rose 8c to 285.
The corporate action at the start the week helped the benchmark NZSX-50 index rise 2.264 points to 4121.235. It had risen 11.37 points on Friday.
Telecom was up 2c at 430. Tower was down 3c at 228 and TrustPower was down 6c at 820.
Rubicon was down 3c at 228. AMP eased 5c to 1210. Tourism Holdings was up 2c at 230.
