KEY POINTS:
The sharemarket marked time in early business today after failing to get a clear steer from a mixed Wall Street.
The benchmark NZSX-50 index, which only fell 9 points yesterday despite a 2 per cent plunge in the US market on Friday, was up 2.67 points to 4145.6 at 10.15am today.
Market leader Telecom was up 1c to 442, Fletcher Building, down 16c yesterday, was steady on 1175, as was Contact Energy on 910.
Goodman Fielder was up 5c to 316, The Warehouse was up 3c to 580 and Freightways was down 4c to 383. Australian financial services firm AMP was down 26c to 1230.

US stocks closed little changed as strength in semiconductor stocks tied to Intel's higher sales outlook offset lingering concerns about the mortgage market.
The Dow Jones industrial average ended 14.47 points higher at 13,127.85. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 1.85 points to 1,451.70 and the Nasdaq Composite Index lost 6.59 points to 2,559.11.
