The New Zealand dollar has been trading in a narrow band, varying by no more than US0.3c throughout yesterday and this morning.
Around 8.15am today the kiwi was down slightly against major currencies from 5pm yesterday. This morning it was buying US63.41c, A83.61c, 0.4973 euro and 71.27 yen. The TWI was 63.15 from 63.23 yesterday evening.
ANZ Investment Bank said that with markets in both the US and Britain closed overnight for public holidays, market volumes were extremely light.
The New Zealand dollar remained relatively unchanged from yesterday's opening level because of the small volume through the market, ANZ said.
Some emerging US dollar strength should help the kiwi ease lower.
