Ron Spratt has been elected as the newest member on the Te Puke Community Board, following a by-election which concluded at midday today.
Mr Spratt received 1098 votes while his sole opponent, Richard McNair, received 579 votes.
Mr Spratt, who previously served on the community board from 1995-2001 and 2013-2016, joins current members Peter Miller, Bev Button, and Joan Dugmore.
He is also on the HubTrust which runs the Community Police Patrollers.
The by-election was triggered after two community board members were elected as councillors in the Te Puke/Maketu ward onto the Western Bay of Plenty District Council at last year's local Government elections.
