When Aidan Kuka leads out Te Puna on to Maramatanga Park against Rotoiti tomorrow, he joins an exclusive club of players who have made 300 senior appearances.
The 34-year-old lock represents a long-standing connection between his whanau and the Te Puna club.
The first Te Puna senior team in 1911 contained family names seen on today's team sheets - Kuka, Ormsby, Tarua, Borell, Tuhakaraina, Tangitu, Bidois, Faulkner and Heke.
Kuka's longevity says much about how he has kept himself fit.
In his first seven years of senior rugby, he never missed a game and was never substituted off the field.
