Tauranga MP Simon Bridges is welcoming the Government's pre-budget announcement of $22m in extra funding for budgeting services around the country.
"We've got a number of great organisations providing budgeting services here in Tauranga and this funding will help them continue to support people in our community to manage their finances," Mr Bridges said.
"Money management can be especially tough for people on low incomes, and budgeting services play a vital role helping people get the right skills so they can save for the things that matter and gain financial independence.
"The work of organisations like Tauranga Budget Advisory Service Incorporated, Ngati Ranginui Iwi Society Incorporated and Te Runanga O Ngai Te Rangi Iwi Trust are helping many people in Tauranga get their finances sorted and get ahead, and this funding will help them even further."
This investment will see a 61 per cent increase in Government funding over the next two years, and will help budgeting services provide a greater level of support.
