This wall art is simple yet attractive and a project kids and parents can do together
If you are looking for a way to brighten your child's bedroom, this DIY project is an easy way to add a pop of colour. Using just a few materials, you're limited only by your imagination and embroidery thread colours - of which there are hundreds!
You will need
1 x A4 wood block (scrap wood is ok too)
Bag of small nails
1 x embroidery thread of your choice
Printed A4 image to use as a template
- We found all these supplies at Mitre 10 Mega and Spotlight.
1. Centre your template and begin hammering in nails.
2. Once you have completed the outside edge (don't line up the nails across from each other as this will make your final image too neat), tear the paper out from underneath
3. Go nuts with embroidery thread, criss-crossing and wrapping around nails to change direction.
4. For a sharp finish, go around the edge of the image.
TIP: Allow at least 45 minutes to get the nails in, it takes longer than you think!
