Bacon brought bus users together this morning.
To celebrate World Car Free Day the Bay of Plenty Regional Council put on a breakfast barbecue at Tauranga's Willow St bus exchange downtown between 7.30am and 9.30am.
The Hits radio station host Will Johnston was on the tongs. He reckoned they handed out more than 150 bacon butties in two hours.
"People could smell the bacon from more than 250m away - and from around the corners of buildings too. Bacon transcends physics."
He said people came in waves as buses dropped them off.
