Bay of Plenty Steamers and Chiefs forward Johan Bardoul will be out for the remainder of the Investec Super Rugby season after he ruptured the medial ligament in his right knee.

The injury occurred during the Chiefs 34-20 victory over the Bulls in Rotorua on Friday night. The recovery time for this type of injury expected to be up to eight weeks.
It is bad luck for Bardoul who last week signed a new two-year deal with the Chiefs and has impressed in his debut Super Rugby season.
