Entries are open for the Christmas Light Trail 2014 and the more, the merrier.
The annual light trail has become something of a Tauranga tradition. Every year, Bay of Plenty Times co-ordinates the event which sees homes across the Western Bay of Plenty adorned with beautiful Christmas lights.
Now is the time to get your property registered.
The trail is not just for residential areas, says Bay of Plenty Times marketing manager Samantha Dowling. Entries are also welcome from the commercial sector. "It would be wonderful if whole streets decided to take up the challenge. We encourage more locals and businesses to light up their homes so we can continue to build on this Christmas tradition." Entries are also encouraged from surrounding areas, such as Whangamata, Katikati, Te Puke and Waihi.
Samantha says the event grows bigger each year - there were 59 entries last year. "Each year, we enjoy organising such a festive and well-received community event. We are thankful to our sponsors for giving us their support to make the light trail possible and to everyone who registers their property each year."
