The Rugby World Cup has had significant benefits for downtown Tauranga new store Dollar Value Express.
Since opening earlier this month, the store has been inundated with rugby fans wanting All Blacks and rugby team memorabilia. Dollar Value managing director Glenn Williams said The Strand store had been overwhelmed with customers wanting RWC flags.
"We only opened on September 1 and since then we've been caught up with people wanting the supporters' flags," Mr Williams said.
"We've had to order a whole lot more of them because the demand for them has exceeded what we initially thought."
Similarly, The Warehouse Fraser Cove store manager Duncan Gardiner said there had been "huge interest" in RWC merchandise before the contest began and during the first week of play.
