Hewletts Rd Caltex service station has permanently closed after Chevron New Zealand, which markets Caltex in New Zealand, pulled the plug on the site.
The pumps were ripped out and the station boarded up on Friday.
Franchise owner Rob Parkes declined to make any comment.
Chevron New Zealand spokesman Jeremy Clarke said the decision to close the site had been a purely economic decision and the closure was because it was "not viable".
