Some of the best places to work are in the Bay of Plenty, according to the finalist list of the JRA New Zealand's Best Workplaces survey 2010.
The region offers the most finalists outside of Auckland and Wellington in Best Workplace awards, with Sport Bay of Plenty, Footsteps Education and Brookfield New World represented in three of the competition's four size categories.
The survey is New Zealand's largest annual workplace climate-employee engagement survey and uses confidential feedback from organisations' employees to rate their employers.
The recognition is a reflection of a number of years work at building an employee-friendly organisation, said Sport Bay of Plenty chief executive Wayne Werder.
"Our people are so critical to our organisation that we must continue to provide them with a really positive working environment."
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony and dinner at the Langham Hotel, in Auckland, on Thursday.
JRA managing director John Robertson said it was encouraging to see a large number of organisations still entering the survey and the high level of staff satisfaction, despite difficult economic conditions for some.
"Finalists and winners rightly use their result to attract and retain the best staff and improve market perceptions of their organisation."
