The outlook for Saturday is looking rainy and windy as a rapidly deepening, complex low crossing the Tasman Sea should sweep across the country during Friday and early Saturday.
"It looks to be a wild, windy Saturday for Auckland, with showers moving across the region like bullets" says MetService forecaster Georgina Griffiths.
"Those voters out west could well feel a little more blown-away than the rest of us, with the risk of severe wind gusts on the way to the polling station".
