Fort Lane in downtown Auckland is now home to a vivid new art installation, 'Eyelight Lane' by Swedish artist David Svensson.
Made up of 120 metres of luminous neon lights criss-crossing the building facades, the installation reflects the renewed energy of Fort Lane since its transformation from a vehicle centric road to a shared space.
For Aucklanders it will be the first opportunity to see Svensson's work, an artist with a fast growing international reputation, in a public space in the southern hemisphere.
'Eyelight Lane' is part of a project to transform the look and feel of the inner city, to the benefit of workers, residents, visitors and businesses in the area.
As Fort Lane is a great night time destination and the work is light-based, it is best viewed at night.
