New Zealand sailor Sam Meech has extended his lead in the boys' Laser Radial class at the youth sailing world championships in Brazil.
Meech, of the Murrays Bay Sailing Club, placed fourth and sixth in this morning's (NZ time) two races and now has a 25 point lead at the top of the standings after two days.
There are four days of racing left.
In the girls' Laser Radial, Rachel Basevi is 18th overall in the fleet of 39.
In RS:X, Ben Mackay and Lucy Driver are 11th and 10th overall in the boys and girls classes respectively.
Marcus Hansen and James Turner are 10th overall in the Hobie 16 multihull while boys' 420 sailors Ben Goodwin and Logan Dunning-Beck are 15th overall.
Alexandra Maloney and Bianca Barbarich-Bacher are also 15th overall in the girls' 420.
