A man who walked out of Pak 'n' Save without paying for more than $200 worth of groceries had a "gut feeling he was going to be caught".
Daniel Mcdonald appeared in the Whanganui District Court on Tuesday where he pleaded guilty to shoplifting.
On November 9 Mcdonald and an associate were at Pak 'n' Save in Wanganui.
They left the checkout area without paying for $225.96 worth of groceries but were met by police at the door.
"The defendant said he had a gut feeling he was going to be caught today," Sergeant Rachel Willemsen told the court.
