A man whose car fishtailed in loose gravel as he passed other cars at a section of roadworks later refused to get out of his car for police.
The Whanganui District Court heard last week Joshua Gordon Chant was driving through roadworks where the speed limit was temporarily 30km/h when he pulled out into the other lane and sped along loose gravel.
Chant was fishtailing on the gravel, according to a witness, police prosecutor Sergeant Stephen Butler said.
He was stopped by police in Koromiko Rd but locked his doors and refused to comply with the officers, and only complied when he was "repeatedly" warned that force would be used.
Defence lawyer Anna Brosnahan said Chant, who had not appeared in court before, had been completing a defensive driving course, and apologised to police for resisting them.
