The historic Waverley Town Hall is up for sale and the man acting for the absentee owner says there has been a lot of interest in the building.
The owner, John Abbott, is currently in the UK, and Wanganui man Dean Butler is acting for him.
Mr Abbott bought the town hall from the South Taranaki District Council (STDC) four years ago, which is now a contentious point with locals who say it should never have been sold.
The town hall, land and house is listed on Trade Me for $50,000. It was built in 1908 and consists of a main hall, stage, elevated seating for about 80 people, a large kitchen, male and female toilets, a bathroom and a stage toilet.
There is storm damage on the right hand corner of the building.
