Henadzi Aliashchuk, of Bulgaria, set a world record yesterday in the clean-and-jerk when he lifted 181kg to win the men's 62kg category at the world weightlifting championships in Antalya, Turkey.
Aliashchuk's lift broke the 1999 world record of 180.5kg set by Maosheng Le, of China.
The Bulgarian lifted a total of 317.5kg.
Yinglong Li, of China, was second with a total of 305.0kg, followed by Bulgaria's Stefan Georgiev with 302.5kg.
Olympic silver medallist Feng-Ying Li, of Taiwan won the women's 53kg category by lifting a total of 210kg.
