NZ health authorities are considering whether to take action after a British health alert yesterday that children under 16 should not be given Bonjela mouth pain relief gels.
Britain's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency issued the warning over treatments containing salicylate salts, based on a theoretical risk of developing Reye's syndrome.
Manufacturer Reckitt Benckiser said the warning did not apply to its Bonjela Teething Gel.
