Mangateretere man Barry O'Malley has yet to solve the mystery of a 2m remote-controlled plane which collided with his house last week.
He is still trying to return the foam object to its rightful owner.
"It was a windy day and they must have lost control," he said of the gale-force winds which buffeted the region last Thursday.
"[The plane] could have come from anywhere - Hastings, Flaxmere or Napier - because it is quite light and the winds would have easily blown it."
No damage was done to his house by the Parkzone Radian plane.
