Four months after the release of Beneath The Crystal Palace, comes the new video from Dictaphone Blues - Spicy Fruit Loaf.
Just don't expect to see the band miming the song while posturing to camera. The video - made by Wellington stop-motion animators Ready! Steady! Studio! - stars hand-picked vintage props.
"We created a series of absurd stop-motion commercials that take things several steps too far, where the products start rebelling with the help of some unexpected film tricks," says co-director Jacob Perkins.
"I really wanted the video of the song to take the lyric a little further, into a warped out colourful place," adds songwriter Ed Castelow.
"We live in an instantaneous age where Google or Facebook interprets everything and answers most questions for us, I guess that's where the lyrical idea came from. That and what the television tells us and how much we believe it."
*Dictaphone Blues' video release party is at Auckland's Kings Arms Tavern on Friday September 7, buy tickets here.
