Singer Brooke Fraser received a baptism of fire in Hollywood this weekend when she was caught on the sidelines of an ugly confrontation between fiery British model Jordan and a top Kiwi-born gossip columnist.
Fraser was dining with News of the World showbiz editor Dan Wootton, a childhood friend from Lower Hutt, at the swanky Chateau Marmont where some of the Oscars stars are staying.
A war of words erupted when Wootton was spotted by Jordan, a volatile reality TV star whose real name is Katie Price. Price's close pal, film hardman Vinnie Jones, also laid into Wootton with a foul-mouthed rant.
Wootton tweeted afterwards: "So Jordan and I came face to face in Hollywood last night and it was NOT pretty. She was a wreckhead as ever.
"Jordan was out with Vinnie Jones at the Chateau Marmont who was rude as hell. Awful man. So only right they were out together!
"Loved introducing @brookefraser and @scottligertwood to the crazy world of Jordan."
Brooke Fraser, 26, moved from Sydney to LA last month with husband Scott Ligertwood, who was also at the dinner.
Fraser tweeted: "Frivolity at the Chateau Marmont ... Very amusing having an old friend who works for Britain's go-to tabloid.. @danwootton I love you."
The Chateau Marmont was packed with stars, ahead of the Oscars ceremony, including Ben Stiller and Josh Hartnett.
Fraser, the Wellington-born daughter of former All Black Bernie Fraser, has teamed with producer Larry Klein to record her third album in the US.
Price had flown into LA to be with her husband Alex Reid.
