A family home in Tauranga South has won the $1m to $2m new build category at the Registered Master Builders House of the Year awards.
The cedar-and-clay-brick home, built by Belco, has three bedrooms, two bathrooms. two living rooms, two outdoor living spaces, a pool and panoramic views.

Judges described it as a private urban oasis on a tight site that presented special challenges.
Designers made sure every square metre of the 230sq m floor plan was utilised, with joinery maximising the panoramic views while minimising heat loss, and louvres creating an all-weather deck space.
